Why NiMH for medical devices: NiMH chemistry offers a stable 1.2 V per cell, high intrinsic safety (no thermal runaway like lithium cobalt cells), wide operating temperature and excellent cycle life of roughly 500–1000 charge-discharge cycles — important for equipment that is repeatedly charged and must stay ready. Cells and packs can be supplied with CE, RoHS, REACH, MSDS/SDS, UN38.3 and IEC 62133 documentation, with cells built to IEC 61951-2.
